The Path to Allah

Excerpt from Dr. Shaykh Sayyed Muhammad bin Yahya Al-Husayni Al-Ninowy Friday Qutabah.

The path to Allah SWT goes through various stages. They are as follows:

Stage 1: When a person worships and does good deeds only for sake of Allah without any other reasons associated.

Stage 2 : When a person find joy and serenity in spending time alone with Allah (contemplating, praying,remembering and thanking) and keep run back from world towards Allah.

Stage 3 : When a person seeks knowledge of guidance ( Quran and Prophet Muhammad SWS’s sunnah) provided by Allah and follows it to please Allah.

Stage 4 :When a person leaves behind his self and brings himself in worship and service Allah.

Stage 5 : When a person reaches close to Allah he is tested with hardships as a test.

Know Your Lord

In my view the first and fore most step towards enlightened wisdom, Al Hikmah is to know and understand your creator and his expectations from us.

Al Quran reveals the following verse:

“He is Allah, the Creator, the Originator, The Fashioner, to Him belong the most beautiful names: whatever is in the heavens and on earth, do declare His praises and glory. And He is the Exalted in Might, The Wise. (Quran 59:24)

It is believed that the 99 Names of Allah, also known as the 99 Attributes of God are revealed in Quran and Sunnah of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH).

The following surah gives indication that the most beautiful of the names belongs to Allah SWT.

“The most beautiful names belong to God: so call on Him by them;…” (7:180)

We will make a humble attempt to research and study the 99 names (attributes) of Allah SWT in this blog so we may be able to gain Al Hikmah through grace of Allah SWT.
